Keira Knightley
Knightley, born in London in the family with actors Will Knightley & Sharman Macdonald as young as six years old was first employed in TV commercials and movies. Knightley portrayed Sabe in a tiny role on the set of Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1998). Her first big breakthrough was in the role of a teenage footballer in the sports film Bend It Like Beckham (2002), and was able to attain international fame for her role as Elizabeth Swann in the swashbuckler fantasy show Pirates of the Caribbean, from 2003. She was a part of the love comedy Love Actually (2003) and was considered a promising young star. Knightley received the Academy Award nod for Best Actress in 2005, for her performance as Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of the romantic historical novel Pride & Prejudice. Knightley was also in many more period-themed films, such as Atonement (2007 which was a romantic love tale), The Duchess, (2008) and Anna Karenina, (2012). Also, she performed the role of a socialite, Georgiana as part of The Duchess. The actress also ventured into modern dramatics. Begin Again, (2013) saw her play an undiscovered singer. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, (2014) saw her as a medical student. Knightley made a return to historical film in The Imitation Game in 2014 in which she was nominated to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress. In 2018, Knightley played the writer Colette.
